Being stuck in quarantine makes us spiritless. NO STUDIES. NO WORK. NOTHINGS TO DO TO EXERCISE OUR MINDS AND BODIES. Sure, everyone has messed up daily routines these days. So, here is a list of five things to do during the quarantine. 1. Have a bonding with your family/ relatives While bored in the quarantine, one of the best and fulfilling things to do is bonding with our family. We can try home-based and low-cost up to no-cost activities that are truly enjoyable such as playing board games, watching movies, and some indoor games activities. It will strengthen the relationships with our family and make us ready for future changes or challenges that will come in the future. Bonds with the family will also help each member to gain self-confidence because of realizations about how family's love matter will cause members to value themselves. NOTE: Implement social distancing. 2. Take free online courses We all know that famous universities such as Harvard University are currently offering free online courses for all the ‘front liners’ and the people who are in quarantine. So, if you love productive things wherein you can get knowledge, free online courses are perfect for you! Furthermore, The Department of Education (DepEd) launched its website called ‘DepEd commons’ which is an educational online platform for teachers and learners nationwide that supports alternative learning modalities amid enhanced community quarantine. This website does not require an internet connection and is accessible without incurring data charges on Globe/Smart and TM-powered smartphones. Moreover, if you’re more of a reader, Globe also got your back, as it creates its eLibrary to give free access to hundreds of ebooks and videos provided by DepEd to Filipino learners, educators, and parents nationwide. 3. Plant: flowers, vegetables and trees Planting trees and other plants are one of the easiest and impactful things to do to help the environment. It benefits not only us but other humans and species too! Planting may be challenging for beginners, but it is a learning process. By planting, we can help in a lot of ways such as combating climate change and provide clean air and help us breathe. If there are fruits and vegetables, those are surely the bonus! 4. Start a journal or blog Just like what I'm doing right now. Sure, reading blogs and articles are entertaining, but have you ever wondered how it feels like when you're the writer? It's one of the most enjoyable things to do. You can share about what you feel about being in quarantine, your new daily routine, or anything else you can share. Reading is fun and you can make people happy if you give them more things to read! Open a WordPress account: https://wordpress.com/ NOTE: Never spread false news! 5. Watch inspirational movies Losing your passion while locked in your house? No problem. There is a lot of movies out there that offer high-quality production and motivational stories! You might gain your passion back and love yourself even more after watching them. And I would also like to suggest the movie: Taar Zameen Par (English title: Like Stars On Earth). It shows how parenting and mental health affects child conditions. It also showcases multiple intelligences. It is available on Netflix and YouTube as well, gonna put the link down below.
